New Robert Burns Mural in Kilmarnock Town Centre by Michael Corr Artist
The Robert Burns mural! 🏴🎨✨
Located on the gable end of a historical spot in Kilmarnock town centre, this mural celebrates our national bard and his deep ties to the area and beyond.
Nature played a huge role in Burns’s work, inspiring and celebrating his surroundings. The mural reflects this with natural, organic shapes and patterns, and colours associated with nature and Kilmarnock. It also pays homage to the "Kilmarnock Edition," which was pivotal in his life, featuring poems like “To a Mouse” and “To a Mountain Daisy” – works that were truly ahead of their time.
A massive thank you to East Ayrshire Council, the Robert Burns World Federation, and the Kilmarnock Business Association. It was fantastic working with you on this project! 🙌🏻👍🏻
Special thanks to Andrea & John, Ashley, Fraser, Neil, and the good folks of Kilmarnock for all your support. ❤️
Thank you to Neil for providing his drone footage too! 🎥 👍🏻
